Anarchy Online: Alien Invasion imminent

Funcom today announced that Anarchy Online: Alien Invasion has gone gold. The latest expansion for the massively multiplayer role-playing game Anarchy Online allows players to create houses and towns and then looses an extraterrestrial invasion force upon the newly created settlement. Anarchy Online: Alien Invasion is set to ship August 31 and will cost $29.99.

Funcom also reiterated its previously announced preorder deal: Players who order the game early will receive 10 exclusive "Leet" pets for their characters. The company is also considering offering the expansion pack as a download but will come to a final decision later.

Alien Invasion is the third expansion pack for Anarchy Online. 2002 saw the release of The Notum Wars, and Shadowlands was released in September 2003. For more information on Anarchy Online: Alien Invasion, see GameSpot's preview.
