Halloween just got a lot scarier.

Frictional Games, the dev team behind Amnesia: The Bunker, has announced a Halloween update for the survival horror game, which will make it a lot harder to survive. The update adds two new game modes, a new health system, and much more.

According to a press release, players will be able to create their "own horror experience" via Custom mode, with more than 30 settings and parameters. On top of that, they'll be able to play the game in Shell Shock Mode, which is described as "the most hardcore Amnesia experience yet."

In addition to the new modes, the latest update introduces various new features to the game. Some include new creature behaviors, which makes them more unpredictable. A new Sublevel Fuse system will be added as well, which will force players to restore electricity to turn on lights in specific bunker zones. There'll also be a new health system called Hardcore Health System. When this is active, players will lose health while bleeding. Bandages will no longer restore health, but they'll stop bleeding, while medkits will restore health and stop bleeding.

There'll also be more lockers with their combinations in random locations. If players want to access the Locked Fuel Storage room, they'll have to find the combination somewhere in the bunker, and saving progress now costs fuel. The revolver will also no longer be available from the start, so if players want to arm themselves, they'll first have to unlock the storage locker, and the safe room is no longer safe. Lastly, there'll also be a training ground to help players practice their skills.
