The airborne and ranger training missions for the tactical shooter will be released this week.

The US Army has announced that it will be releasing two new add-ons for its popular tactical shooter, America's Army: Operations, later this week. The first add-on will be airborne training, in which players will take practice jumps from a tower modeled after the 250-foot Free Fall Tower used to train paratroopers at the US Army Airborne School in Fort Bening, Georgia, then from a C-17 aircraft from a simulated height of 1,250 feet.

The second add-on will be ranger training missions--two new missions that will let players join the elite 75th Ranger Regiment in the swamps outside Eglin Air Force Base in Florida and in the mountains of Dahlonega, Georgia.

The two add-ons are scheduled for release at the end of this week, and GameSpot will have them posted for download as soon as they become available. For more information on America's Army: Operations, consult our previous coverage .
