Infogrames has announced that Alone in the Dark: A New Nightmare for the Sega Dreamcast has gone gold. The game is now ready for manufacturing and will soon ship to retailers nationwide. Developed by Darkworks, this fourth installment in the Alone in the Dark series features two playable characters--Edward Carnby and Aline Cedrac. In this survival-horror game, Carnby's missions will be more action-oriented, while Cedrac will have to solve a variety of puzzles. Visually, the game features prerendered backgrounds and real-time characters, enemies, and foreground objects.

Alone in the Dark: A New Nightmare is also in development for the Sony PlayStation 2.
