All of Heroes of the Storm's Characters Are Free to Play This Weekend

Give anybody a try this weekend.

As it has a few times in the past, Blizzard will allow Heroes of the Storm players to try out every character in the game for free over the course of a few days.

Starting this Friday, January 13, players will have three days to play as its full roster of 60-plus heroes. That includes even the most recent additions, such as Zul'jin, Varian (the first multi-class character), and Ragnaros (who can transform into a giant raid boss of sorts).

This promotion doesn't tie in with any other event; it seems to merely be a way of promoting the as it heads into the new year. The video above highlights many of the key additions from 2016.

Unlike fellow free-to-play MOBA Dota 2, Heroes of the Storm requires players to purchase individual characters with in-game gold or real-world money to play as them. There's also a rotating lineup of free characters each week, though there's usually a long wait before the newest additions (like those mentioned above) make it into that rotation.

The free event starts at 10 AM PT on January 13 and runs through the same time on January 16.
