Alan Wake 2 Patch Promises Over 200 Fixes

Developer Remedy says it addressed some progression bugs in this update, such as not being able to choose a Rose dialogue option.

A new update available now for the critically acclaimed Alan Wake 2 features over 200 "individual improvements and fixes," according to developer Remedy. The range of issues addressed by the patch include progression bugs, UI polish, and lip sync.

Officially called the 08 update (spotted by VGC), Remedy notes "improved lighting" are a part of this patch on the Alan Wake 2 website, along with "several conversations failing to trigger and thus blocking progress later have been fixed." For example, the developer mentions players wouldn't be able to choose Rose's dialogue options at times.

Remedy also has other updates in the pipeline for the survival-horror sequel. Alan Wake 2 will be getting a New Game+ mode in the future, featuring an alternate storyline. A Nightmare difficulty option is in the works, as well.

-Fixed an issue (much to Rose’s chagrin) with physics-related props that could block the player in and halt progress

COME HOME:

-Fixed an issue where the player, in rare instances, could not exit the radio, TV, or manuscript interact modules.

PC specific

–Fixed a bug that could cause graphics settings to reset when launching the game

–Improvements to PC Window handling logic

–Fixed mouse cursor sometimes not appearing in menus
