After Announcing Delay, No Man's Sky Dev Gets Death Threats

So what kind of sense does this make "Hey finish this game or I'm gonna kill you" but then I won't be able to finish the gam..... "Shut the hell up I said FINISH THE GAME or you're dead." lol What they should have done was threaten his family that always motivates ppl.

So long as he doesn't wander into any unfamiliar parent-owned basement apartments or suburban group house bedrooms, I think he'll be safe.

Come on people. Death threats? Disappointment is one thing yes, but that's life. I'm as anxious for this game as the next person, But... In the grand scheme of things, it's just a game. Life goes on regardless if it comes out a little late, or even not at all.

It was only delayed for a few weeks. Good lord people have no sense of patience.

This isn't the gaming community. It is a few short-fused individuals with no accountability. This is prevalent in other industries, music, film, writing, etc.

It's a function of lack of education coupled with no consequences. People are simply given the keys to the internet with no understanding of how their actions can impact others and when they unleash a tirade like the above there is no consequence. It's simply brushed off as "Oh it's just the internet." I think we should stop using that as an excuse.

To the individuals who are for some reasons trying to incite a console war: This is a multiplatform game.

I must ask: what exactly does a person get from threatening the life of a video game developer? At best, at the very best, you MIGHT get what you wanted....once....before that developer leaves the business and the game you're endlessly obsessing over....At worst you look like a raging twat, and possibly get arrested for the act. So what is the gain?

Sorry Sean, some of this 'community' have the social skills of, well, people who don't know how to interact with other humans. Doubt they'll manage any better when they have to try and play nice with aliens who they can't understand either; basically they'll be space dicks. See, it's people like this that give gaming a bad name. It's JUST a game, people. Do what others do: work on your Steam back log of games. Or the console equivalent. I'm sure most console gamers have a backlog, too.

The downside of internet anonymity. People think they are entitled to say whatever they want, when under normal circumstances (no anonymity) their actions would be considered at its minimal illegal, and just downright immoral. I appreciate all the upsides of anonymity, but sometimes you wonder, the sheer amount of stupidity it fosters.

It's sad that by being a gamer, this is the kind of community that I associate myself with. Even more so if I was a developer, this is my target market. Maybe that's why the industry's in such a bad state. Not just because of corporate practices/standards, but perhaps because of the immaturity of the community and industry as a whole.
