After Announcing Delay, No Man's Sky Dev Gets Death Threats

It wasn't PS4 gamers sending death threats, it was PC gamers

The game looks like garbage anyway. Everyone should take this as a sign to skip it altogether.

Once I saw there isn't any co-op and you'll never come across other players exploring I lost interest in this game.

Sad that there are people out there that would be this mad over a 7 week delay, tells you a lot about the immaturity of some gamers who are unfortunately giving us all a bad name.

What a bunch of Smeg heads, it just a game. If there a delay then so be it. Its best to get the game right and working instead of it not working with bugs right.

I don't understand why you would send death threats to anybody. I hate that people label these guys as "gamers" too, to me a gamer loves gaming, loves the whole culture of gaming, and considers gaming more than a hobby or just a way to pass the time. I think the people sending these threats play like two games all year and those games are most likely the games that are the most popular on Twitch, they don't keep up with what is going on gaming and they don't care. That's just my opinion, I think there is a huge difference between gamers and people who play games.

All that dose is make the dev team more demoralized about there situation and my.make for a bad game in the end.

Sending death threats anonymously must make you feel accomplished with your life. I'm glad Holland does something about this kind of abuse. They literally track these cowards down and confront them. Here's hoping it takes off worldwide to stop this ugly trend in online societies.

if this gen wouldn't suck as much as this one does this delay wouldn't be a problem. but with every other game being an mmo or onlineshooter and a flood of indie games on consoles there is just a very tiny number of games worth buying for me. no many sky is one of these. so for me it feels like sony just shut down the counter until fall. thanks for nothing. can't wait to ignore the next onlineshooter, onlinearenashooter, mmo, moba and whatnot. sigh.

Just sad that among all the great gamer fans, that there are a few that would threaten someone over this. Sheesh. Please, put down your controller and think about your life. The game will come, a couple of months late, who cares? It will be better for it.

Hey, I'm all for delaying games as long as we get a full complete game with all deserving options we expect. Look at Street Fighter V ( no single campaign and missing characters at launch) look at Star Wars Battlefront ( no single campaign). I don't mind waiting extra time for a great game and not a ok game and other people should too. People will complain no matter what....if they game comes out with bugs, missing game mode options or whatever then they'll complain too. You can't win no matter what, however if you truly deliver a game that say over delivers on expectations then you're a hero!!! I've never played this game and from what it sounds and looks, I may decide to pick it up (PS4). This company should be complimented because they're actually learning from the mistakes other companies like EA (Dice) and Capcom for putting games out sooner and not complete which equals much unhappy consumers towards them so give these guys a break. Just hope they put out an awesome game come August...

I've been thinking a lot about this kinda thing, death threats or just people being jerks, and I'm wondering if maybe it's better to stop mentioning it every time. I don't mean Gamespot or some site reporting it, I mean the individuals receiving the threats. They have every right to post it and tell people of course, but the reality is the people doing this are a tiny minority and when one of these situations pops up everyone piles on and I feel like it turns into sort of a hating on gamers/community fest.

I was actually a bit surprised that Sean posted it, I kinda figured he might be the type to just keep it private. But you can still see the difference between him and most industry people in the way he did it.

"How dare they delay this game. I'd rather have an unfinished, buggy, unplayable title that needs to be patched 6 weeks after release. That is what we deserve!" said one complete idiot when asked his opinion.

Things worth killing for:

Defending your country from the oppression of foreign forces. Avenging the death of a loved one. Somebody insulted your mother. A game you were looking forward to got delayed because it wasn't ready yet.
