The classic collectible card game Magic: The Gathering is expanding into a new genre: the MMO action-RPG. Cryptic Studios and Perfect World debuted Magic Legends with a brief cinematic trailer at The Game Awards. The game will let you create your own Planeswalker and adventure in the world. A beta is planned for 2020.

Magic Legends is coming from Cryptic Studios and Perfect World, the developer and publisher of the Dungeons & Dragons MMO Neverwinter. The team is being headed up by Star Trek Online vet Stephen Ricossa.

"We've assembled a team of talented developers who are incredibly passionate about Magic: The Gathering and share a collective deep knowledge of the franchise. We're thrilled to have the opportunity to bring the multiverse to life in a way that fans have never experienced before."

The studio says more details are coming in January. For the time being, you can sign up for the beta test through the official site.
