Acclaim Entertainment has today announced that it has signed an exclusive agreement with Archangel Studios to develop video games based upon its computer-generated comic series, The Red Star. Games inspired by The Red Star are currently in development at Acclaim Studios Austin, although details pertaining to gameplay and specific platforms have not been released at this time.

"The Red Star is an incredible futuristic allegory that utilizes a very distinct artistic style to bring its characters and stories to life," said Barry Jafrato, senior vice president of studios for Acclaim. "We're thrilled to be working with Archangel Studios and are eagerly looking forward to immersing gamers throughout the world in the compelling universe of The Red Star."

The Red Star is a comic series set in a parallel fantasy universe in which a Soviet Union-inspired empire known as The United Republics of the Red Star (URRS) has slaughtered millions of its own people under the orders of a sorcerer named Imbohl. For more information on The Red Star, you might be interested to take a look at the official Web site of the comic series.
