A Standalone NBA 2K VR Game Arrives This Week
2KVR Experience launches on PS4 and PC on November 22.
After the existence of such a game was leaked through a recent Trophy listing, 2K today formally announced NBA 2KVR Experience.
This isn't a virtual reality version of NBA 2K17. Instead, it's a standalone, $15 mini-game compilation of sorts. You'll step onto the Indiana Pacers' court alongside the Pacers' Paul George, who is the cover star of 2K17. Here, he'll do commentary and serve as a guide through various skill-improvement exercises.
Among those mentioned in the press release are a three-point shootout, a "speed and accuracy skills" challenge, and a competition to hit shots with the shot clock running down. From the look of the trailer, some of it is grounded in reality, while other aspects have you pulling off ludicrous feats and sinking half-court shots. Leaderboards are mentioned in the press release, as are various boosts you can use by buying Gatorade in-game.
2KVR comes quite soon--it launches tomorrow, November 22, for PlayStation VR, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, and Samsung Gear VR.
