Blumhouse and Lionsgate have revealed the first trailer for Imaginary, a horror movie featuring a cute little teddy bear who is not all they seem.

In Imaginary, a woman (DeWanda Wise) moves back to her childhood home where she discovers a teddy bear that she loved as a child but did not bring with her when she moved out. The little bear, Chauncy, remembers, though, and it's very upset about being abandoned.

A little girl befriends the bear, who asks her to collect and do things for her, and, well, you can see where this is going. You can check out the very unsettling trailer below.

Imaginary is directed by Jeff Wadlow, who directed the scary movies Truth or Dare and Fantasy Island. Two of its writers, Greg Erb and Jason Oremland, are known for writing the very family-friendly and not-scary Disney movie The Princess and the Frog. The third writer, Bryce McGuire, previously wrote the spooky films Every House is Haunted and Night Swim.

Imaginary stars Wise, Tom Payne, Betty Buckley, Pyper Braun, Veronica Falcon, Taegen Burns, Dane DiLiegro, and Matthew Sato.

Blumhouse is known for its scary movies, and this is just the latest. Blumhouse was also behind the 2023 movies M3gan and Five Nights at Freddy's.
