2016 Is a "Year of Preparations" for Final Fantasy VII Remake, Producer Says

I predict 2018 or 19 due to preparation.

I'm sick of all this hype and Sony's alleged exclusive rights to the game.

I'm getting real sick and tired of people complaining.

If you think about it as a business move it make sense for them....just messed up for us

Prior to there announcement of the remake there stocks was plumenting

Once the statement was made it sky rocketed. (the mere mention keep us all intrigued and provided residual income for them. They know this)

This is also the reason its in episodes and not coming out soon. If they make it in one game, we buy and we all get happy how would they keep a sustained growth for there shareholders and interest from us?

Rather lets milk it as long as we can. Have the game (games) come out over a long period of time, thus increasing our profit with sustained income, free marketing and gained partnerships with other vendors (whom may want to be in the game) (increasing profit), Profit off of DLC for each episode, and possible gain customer interest in other products and/or past products.

This makes there shareholders happy ;-). because they are now seeing a gain on there investment quarter over quarter.

It would not be smart for them to deliver this game anytime soon even if they were completely down yesterday .....

So let me get this straight they are releasing it in episodes to get it out faster and they say 2017 is the earliest it will happen. Why don't you just release it all at once two or three years from now instead of making us wait over a year for what will probably only be part one of at least three or four.

I'm going on the record as saying this is probably going to come out in 2021.

Unsurprising. FFXV and KH 2.8 this year, KH3 and FFVII episode 1 next year.

A year of preparation? What the hell? I'm hoping this is a translation issue and he means development. Preparation suggests concept art and the like. You guys don't have to make a new game, you just have to remake an old one. Why would preparation take a year? God this has all the signs of a failure. How did square fall so far?

I see a late 2017 release date for this one

FFVII, likely to be delayed to the point of also being FF16. assuming SE doesn't make another mmorpg ofcourse.

I really do not care about the episode thing either way the game is coming out, though the combat really irks me. They are not even trying to remain faithful to the original wont even do some hybrid combat system.

i just cant get behind this episode bullshit how long will the episodes be? is there any freedom to explore? seems like they know fans love FF7 so much that they want to squeeze every penny they can out of it. finally get the announcement of a remake and its nothing to be excited about just feeling cautious about it.

Duh. It was already assumed that way with 2017 being the 20th anniversary.

Doesnt sound like Kitase-san is expecting an Xbox One version.

I seriously hope the backlash grows to the point where they have to reconsider making the game episodic. It'll never happen, but I can dare to dream. I was already aggravated by the drastic change to the combat, but I was at least willing to let that one go. I don't think I can get passed them dividing the game up in order to charge more money. Yet another reminder that Squaresoft has been gone for a long time.

Most provably will be finished in time for the PS5.
