Don't hack it until you try it
The graphics of the game are fairly good. The best part is the green and tan soldiers themselves. They really look like the little army men I used to play with when I was a kid and it is great see Sarge lose chunks of his body if he takes a hard shot. It is especially funny when his head gets shot off then, by picking up health, slowly grows back. Everything else is basically average, but it is cool to visit the Big World. Most areas look appropriately dirty and barren, like a war has actually occured there. The whole feel of the graphics makes you feel like you are playing with your little army men guys but with real guns and bombs.
The sound is probably the best part of the game. I thought that the music was pretty good, the voice acting fit perfectly with the characters, and the sound effects made you feel like part of a war zone.
The game play is really good in my opinion. The controls take some getting used to, but you will pick them up and find that they work pretty good. Sometimes the camera does go crazy, but that is only a minor flaw and happens rarely.
There is a multiplayer mode. It is fairly good, though it is slightly underwhelming. With only 4 fields, there isn't much offered in the multiplayer but it is pretty fun taking on your buds army men style.
I would like the mention that the story for the game is far better than previous army men games, in which plot was pretty much poorly done. This story is very personal for the main character Sarge and it is very entertaining in my opinion. It can be slightly cheesy at times but again, it works for the army men characters. One nack against the game is that it is fairly short.
Overall, Army Men: Sarge's War is pretty good. I think it is the best Army Men game so far and is pretty damn fun in my opinion.
