Fun once you get used to the controls.

This game certainly isn't bad. The gameplay is varied, the sound is good, and it comes in a black cartridge (a plus for me as a collector).

The control is the same as every other game that uses the Turok 2 engine (read: Turok Rage Wars), meaning you use the C buttons for movement and the Control Stick for aiming. I hadn't played the others before, so it took some time to get used to. It actually works to your advantage after a while.

I only have two major complaints about this game:

1. Many indoor environments are so dark you can't see what's happening, although you can use the muzzle flash from your gun to see, which is kind of cool. I can't say from experience whether or not this is better with the Expansion Pak.

2. There's no battery-backed save feature. You can either use a Controller Pak, or write down passwords you get at the end of each level.

Overall, if you see it for a decent price, pick it up.
