Feels like a Beta
Gameplay is slow and sloppy, the AI is terrible on both sides of the ball, and the game just moves at a snails pace. Which is strange because as someone who goes to AFL games, the pace of the game is actually quite a bit faster than regular football.
Rushing in the AFL is pretty much unheard of. To put it in perspective, the record for most rushing yards in a single game in the NFL is 296, the AFL record is 100. But despite this the passing engine is downright painfully bad. The receivers never seem to know what's going on, and even the best QBs seem lost in the mess of things.
Defensively it's more of the same. Players out of position, too often players are caught losing their man in traffic.
Give this release 2-3 more tries at getting the feeling of the reality of the AFL and this could be a lot of fun.
