Sonic Powered didn't try enough with this game.

When I first saw this game on the Nintendo e-Shop, I actually thought it was a great-looking game for the DSi/3DS... Until I played it. Don't get me wrong here, I do not think it is a terrible game by any means. I think it is an alright game for a short while, but all you really do is just run around in the same area slashing enemies and beating bosses. The game does not have any real challenge at all, except for adding more enemies and artificially upping the difficulty for the bosses which brings me to the second point... The boss levels and enemies. The boss is pretty much the same boss in all levels with no variety whatsoever and sometimes to even win the boss fight, I have to run away from all enemies as they are always ganging up on me which is frustrating to say the least. The boss level is ridiculously annoying and I am even lucky to get past the first version of the boss without dying so many times. The areas are pretty much the same which is bad because I think this game had potential, but I guess Sonic Powered didn't try hard enough. This game was first released as From the Abyss for the DS in Japan, North America and South Korea by Sonic Powered.

Overall, for a dungeon crawler RPG, it was a very mediocre attempt and it could have been improved, but it wasn't bad. If you want to find out more about From the Abyss, here is the link to the Wikipedia page.
