RETURN TO YOUR GRAVE!
GAMEPLAY ~
Basic side scrolling. You kick, you punch, you power up to animal form, and kick more rear... nothing more, the controls are sloppy with the jump button on top and the rest as normal, below. People have actually played my copy and asked where the jump button was, yes... I actually let people play this game Cruel ain't I!?!? The Animal forms are the best part, cause now you are pretty much invincible, the bosses are easy... yet the stages are so long you won't even get to the boss, cause you'll turn this game off, and play something good... that would be anything else mind you.
GRAPHICS ~
By far the worst I have seen since I picked up GoldenSun! Completely baffling how such a primitive game as A.B. could become this garbled mash of cowpat I play in my hands! The lead guy starts off normal, kicking some monster rear, and than he "powers up" and become lanky and a bit more built, than a second power boost and he now has the smallest head in video gaming history and joint stiffness in his hands while he walks, third is unspeakable... The basic monsters look like something you make in 5th grade out of clay and it ends up being feces... It’s completely repetitive! Each stage has 3 monsters they repaint over and over again! Yet strangely enough, they put alot of work into the backgrounds... thanks for the scrolling backgrounds... its beautiful... for about 8 seconds! No more on graphics... please... my eyes hurt...
SOUND ~
I normally hate reviewing GameBoy titles music, cause normally I’m at work playing it making the day go by, but I did hear the music a little while in the bathroom... and lets say... it should have stayed in the bathroom! The kicks and punches sound like heavy objects dropped on a wet toad and the monster sounds and their deaths are like a throwing that dead wet toad at your mother. Well, lets leave the sound alone for now... I'm not being nice.
REPLAYABILITY ~
I guess its high... I play it alot! sadly! When I am between games and I have nothing better to do than waste several minutes of my life going thought a never ending stream of backgrounds and bland enemies, I pop this beauty in and go at it! Cause you can never beat a game where all you do is kick ass and take steroids! BRILLIANT!
OVERALL ~
Not much more can be said... if you just wanna kick some ass for a few moments of your life, go ahead and shell out 13 beans for this title, if you are happy in your cubivore raising, katamari rolling, RPG drooling worlds, like I am, than treat someone else to this game... make it a surprise, cause it will be when their reaction is that of hate and disgust for the rest of their young lives towards you for this purchase!
