Age of Conan has changed since it's release... for the better!!

Age of Conan was a pretty fun game when I played it back on launch.

It suffered the typical MMO launch syndrome... lag, bugs, queues... but that didn't stop the game from being fun back then!

Sure, I wasn't too sure what they were doing with this decimal stat system (ie. you find a sword that gives you +0.00002 attack rating) - and also the skills were also using this confusing system as well. It was bizarre; however, that didn't stop me from having a blast.

But I suppose ignorance is bliss; because not long afterwards, the player-base began running it's own experiments.

They tried fighting each other without clothes or weapons, and found that they actually did MORE damage while naked and unarmed, due to Funcom's wonky itemization system.

That was then, this is now:

I am pleased to say that Age of Conan has shook off that strange system and has turned to a more traditional one; loot if fun to find and use, with a variety of interesting stats that are sometimes more akin to Diablo than World of Warcraft.

The violence is deliciously brutal, as always, and the combat system is still as fresh as it was a year ago.

I say give it a try again... I did, and I have not regretted it.
