All the excitement you get from the beginning quickly dies.

GAMEPLAY: At first, I thought the gameplay was great. The 'flick stick' method of shooting when there are couple of guys on screen works great. As the game goes on, more enemies appear and the 'flick stick' basically fails as a control scheme. At this point in the game, your character has the possibility of being very powerful. This makes the game fairly easy and caused me to overlook some of the frustration with the controls due to the fact that I wasn't dying all the time. The fact that your character's powers become awesome means that guns also become obsolete, which is kinda disappointing, but at the same time you get a feeling of being more powerful than convention weaponry, which is pretty cool.

GRAPHICS: Despite what some other reviews have stated, I really loved the graphics in this game. I thought they were very unique and that the environments gave me a very 'other world' feel. I actually felt like the developers made a whole world and I was just a part of it.

SOUND: Some of the sound effects get old, but they are just like you would expect from a sci-fi game. The voice acting is awesome in comparison to most games. They really drew me into the story. The music is something else, some of the best I've heard in a game. An epic score.

STORY: This is a category that I usually don't put into a review, but with this one being written by Orson Scott Card, I felt like it was something to note. The story is one of the most disheartening parts of the game. While playing the game, you can really tell that it has a huge, deep, epic story; but it never really works. The first half of it is very heartbreaking and the last half of it leaves you wanting more. At no point, did I feel full. I was always hungry for story. It was like eating a steak one day and then eating dog food for a week, only to lick another steak and have it taken away. I seriously doubt if the story will ever be panned out in another game like it was intended and that breaks my heart. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED THE STORY and I know many others will too, but it has too many holes and too much confusion to be as great as it should be.

Overall, I would recommend the game if you want a fun, beautiful sci-fi experience with a discouraging story.
