this is a good, solid flying and combat game. in fact, i feel it handles better than others i've bought, so if you like flying games, this one is low risk. lemme break it on down:

The Good:
- excellent visuals. beautiful, realistic, but with a bit of arcade flare.
- useful HUD items
- fight controls seem more intuitive and feel better than Blazing Angels. though i prefer the WW2 genre, this is the more successful game, IMO.
- sound is solid.
- fairly good instructions as to what you're supposed to do.
- story is OK. not great, but it does weave everything together to give you a purpose.

The "Bad":
- ever been to www.engrish.com? this is a bit like that. the phrasing is odd and the script corny, but it's forgivable in the end. just makes you groan and grimace here and there.
- Would like a bit more variety, but again, this is the nature of these games.

i bought, but i'd rent if i could do it all over again. that's not to say it's a bad or disappointing game. it's good. but just good. i suspect that avid video game flyers will enjoy it a bit more than i did.
