4x4 Evo will satisfy off-road fans, but falls short of any adrenalin rushes.

4x4 Evolution is a satisfying game that delivers what the title promises. However, this game was unable to hold my attention for long with it’s fairly uninteresting racing dynamic. The graphics are good, especially for a near-console launch game. Especially satisfying is the mud and dirt chunks that come flying at the camera from the cars wheels. The use of “blind short-cuts” keeps the course layout more interesting. However, boredom sets in soon due to the lacking sound and the relatively energy less racing feel. This is the sort of game that, when a race is over, the player will likely say “meh. It was okay.”
