If your a fan of the old school NES games, you will love this game.
The story is typical, Hero must save the kingdom from the evil wizard threatening the land. But this time you can pick the Hero from a vast array of character choices available. I choose the Dragoon, just because he looked cool.
The game plays out almost exactly like Zelda, even down to the accessories, maps and dungeons. The game though, is a lot of fun to play and the dot graphics will through you off at first, but you get used to it. The swords you find are a different story though. They can be almost as long as the screen and wider than most buildings or they can look like a fish or a bat. It was fun to use these different swords but sometimes their largeness hindered you in some tight dungeons.
There was a few secrets to find but none more important than that Holy Shield and Hero sword. These were essential in defeating he final Bosses in the game and also helped with all other enemies as well. However, finding them was a whole adventure in itself. Plus there were the small blocks around the world that can be traded for swords and mini games for life and magic prizes.
Overall it was a simple adventure game that could be won very quickly or you could take the time to explore and find all the swords and secrets in order to enhance the experience. Either way, don't look for special graphics, only a nice tribute to old school games and a relief from some of the typical games available right now. Worth a play at any skill level.
