Great concept for a fun arcade time, but it could use some improvements..
With that said, I wish there was at least one rule, when the puck drops behind the net the other team should not be allowed past the goal line. After a goal the puck drops behind the net. This allows anyone, a goal scorer for example, to pick up the puck. This can get annoying if someone scores and continually picks the puck up and scores. There is a good amount of players in the game, could be more though. Also there are no jerseys to choose from on each team. Other from that the game is really fun, especially if you have a few people playing with you.
The power ups are a cool part of the game and it kind of reminds me of Wayne Gretzky's 3D Hockey. Nothing cooler than being a 15ft tall player, checking another player completely across the rink. Graphically it is almost the same as NHL 09, with just a more cartoon feel because of the over exaggerated features. The sounds in the game are pretty funny and the fact that they used music in early NHL games was pretty cool. The game play is also pretty easy, you can choose from a button system to the "Skill Stick" (just like in NHL 09) which makes it very easy for someone to pick it up and play.
Overall I think it gets an 8, fun but there's room for improvement. The $9.99 price tag is a little steep, but I don't regret purchase and I look forward for the next 3v3 NHL Arcade.
