@Raidendude153: This, a review of the PC and Switch versions of the game, has nothing to do with the PS4 version of Tiny Metal.
We also wouldn't include speculation surrounding the development of the game in a review. That has no bearing on the quality of the product on the aforementioned platforms, and bears no critical merit--only social merit.
@Raidendude153: Or, I'm the person that gave them the assignment and these were the only versions of the game our US reviewer had access to at the time, right before the holidays.
The point being: your negativity is exhausting and petty. Why not ask a question and wait for an answer before making an accusation?
@doodoflife: Almost every review you see on GameSpot and other websites is the result of a copy of the game provided by the publisher. It's a practice that occurs across the vast majority of consumer product critique/coverage. We disclose it, as all sites should, to maintain transparency.
As this was my call, I can shed some light on the thinking behind waiting for the championship series to kick off.
These events aren't like a mode that either is or isn't ready for launch in the traditional sense. They are heavily scrutinized competitions that expect you to hone your skills and driving habits, which feed into a profile that's part and parcel of where you're placed within the various championships. Their influence has been a part of GT Sport from the start--it's only now that we've been able to see how it all works out.
It's an unusual set of circumstances, and whether or not this was the right call remains to be seen, but I don't think there's harm in us experimenting as games evolve. It's not a sign of us favoring one publisher or game over another.
