This is one of the channels I follow for workouts. The dude has great knowledge and explains things very well. His physique isn’t my preference, and he got caught up in a fake weight scandal a couple years back, but the information is usually quite good.

@mycatismilk: Can’t say I agree with the cardio bit lol. But that’s a pretty common opinion among the body building community. But some of the biggest pro body builders have stressed the importance of cardio, especially low intensity steady state cardio. Ronnie Coleman and Jay Cutler would do hours of cardio a day during their competition prep. Jay still does it to this day, years after retirement.

There’s nothing wrong with your bench numbers. Though if you’re bulking, you should see them go up. Maybe prioritize incline more. I know my flat bench started going up once I hit incline a few times a week.

And 4,000 calories a day, with no cardio and you’re having trouble gaining weight? You must have a crazy metabolism! I wish mine was like that lol

@strategyfn: I’m kind of the opposite. I lifted in my late 20’s and early 30’s but didn’t really get serious until 37. I’m 40 now and still getting stronger. The only thing on a noticeable decline are my run times. But when I was running my fasted 5Ks I was 168-175lbs. I weighed in this morning at 203. That‘s most likely what’s slowing me down. But there’s guys my age and size, who are pretty lean who can rep 405lbs on the bench press. My max is 315lbs for 3 reps. So I still have a long way I can go.

And holy cow you can do some serious pushups. It takes me 3 sets to hit 100. And I thought that was something lol. Nice work!

@SOedipus: What do you do for back? Back and legs have been a focus of mine the past couple years because I neglected them for so long. I group legs and back together so that workout is extra shitty. I usually start with barbell squats. 225x5 for 5-6 sets. I’ll do pullups in between those sets. 5 sets of 10. Then leg extensions and barbell rows. Next is goblet squats and landmine rows or upright rows. I do deadlifts with a trap bar every now and then, but deadlifts kinda spook me. I’ll do them a couple times a month. Usually lift around 410-460 max. Then I’ll finish that workout off with a 20 minute run at a 8:15-8:30 minute mile pace since my legs are wobbly.

I’m trying to find ways to avoid politics at this point. This election can’t be over soon enough.

I don’t post on this side very often, but there were a handful of folks that seemed to be into fitness over on the System Wars side. I figured it might be a good idea to start a thread over here where folks can share workouts, nutrition, progress etc. Does this seem like something folks would be in to?

The loss of eye tracking and all the haptic feedback, adaptive triggers are much bigger losses imo. Hopefully these things can be modded in.
