Love zoos, but not this.

User Rating: 4 | Zoo Tycoon DS DS
As you may see, I love animals and Zoo Tycoon. And how do I feel about this game? *snore*

Gameplay 5/10
The objective of the game is to complete the 9 scenarios, which will have the objectives such as: Have this many/much *insert word here*, breed this animals, and achieve this in this number of months. Or you can play in freedom mode with over 20 maps, that range to simple flat grasslands to difficult well decorated terrain. The rewards for completing the scenarios are fact cards, all them about animals available in this game. All them seem to be accurate, and I also think you can get a few maps as rewards as well. The 4 difficulties are all not much different, you might have try a bit to fail. This game has 50 animals, from your common zoo animal, like an African Lion to fantasy animals like Unicorns. You've got handful or less of every thing else, such as forage, buildings, fences, etc. The menus are on the touch screen. You figure out everything about this game in about hour. The fence and terrain placing is stupid, how place them is on a range of ten squares on your touch screen, you almost always have to look up to see where you're putting it. You can delete every object, except already placed fences, and your exhibits can only be ten squares across. Creativity can be a bit limited, and NOTHING interesting happens. I mean something's wrong when the most entertaining thing the game is the lion in the credits, that when you touch it put and pulls stuff in and out of a trash can...

Graphics 2.5/10
The spites and pixel art is like some thing you would see on half of GBA games, everything gets more and more blurry the further you zoom out. All of the animals and guest copies have 8 frames or less of animation. It's all just an eyesore to look at.

No story exist, unless you want to count the simple summaries at the beginning scenarios.

Sound 4/10
There is hardly any sound, other then the Zoo Tycoon theme at the main menu, the short songs in the scenario, fact cards, freedom mode, and credits screens. Also the simple noises of placing animals and objects, the animals' happy and sad face sound, and the occasional bird or wolf background noise in the actual game. So it's just better to have your iPod, playlist, the radio etc. on when playing this.

It seem that this game was made quickly, and they put hardly any effort into it. And sorry if I seem a bit off compared to my other reviews, do to the fact that this so far is the most boring game I've ever played! I get bored within less then 15 minutes of playing this game. I'll tell 'ya that you should go get the Zoo Tycoon games on the PC, because those are at lest 5X better than this crap!
~Thank you for reading my review, please rate and again, arigato~
