It maybe a short game but it still delivers a lot of action and plenty of unlockable stuff

Hideo Kojima is well known as a creator, director and writer of a number of some of the most universally praised video games, one of his well-known work is for the Metal Gear Solid franchise. Kojima has produced other games as well including Castlevania and Boktai; Kojima also produced the Zone of the Enders series which is one of another classic series that spun its way on the PlayStation 2.

Anyone who has been following the story for Zone of the Enders, taking place to years after the events of the first game following the story on Dingo Egret, a former member from Mars military organization BAHRAM whose leader Ridley Nohman Hardiman wants back with him. Nohman shoots Dingo following his rejection but the agent Ken Marinaris saves Dingo by connecting his body to Jehuty and forces to work in order to defeat BAHRAM. Seems like a basic story plot but instead having your entire body attached to a giant mech robot.

If you've played the first Zone of the Enders gameplay controls should feel very familiar to you square button for your main weapon and the circle button for your sub-weapon but you can also grab enemies. Both triangle and X buttons are for ascending and descending, plus using the R2 button to dash and dodge attacks. You can unlock other abilities as well more you progress within its story including its side-quest missions, some missions can be a bit of a challenge to get through depending on what difficulty you’re planning on playing on. There are Extra Missions which you can unlock including single and multiplayer versus matches which you can fight against each other.

Taking out the CGI cutscenes that used in the first game are now replaced with anime visuals for its cutscenes which do look pretty nice making it close to an anime series if it got one back in 2003 does look passable. The visuals and level designs for most of the game are really impressive to look for a PS2 game that was released back in 2003 it still holds up today, even though you can get the HD version on either PS3 or Xbox 360 but this version on the PS2 is recommended.

Soundtrack has a nice touch and making the feel like it has a lot of action for a sequel but feels like there is something missing and wishing they could add more to the sequel. It can take you more than 5 hours to complete the main story depending what difficulty you are playing it on first but you will very likely get a good challenge on hard mode than normal mode. The 2nd Runner is an enjoyable game for those who are a fan of the series or looking for a good challenge when it comes to and could have been the original story to begin with.
