Zarlor Mercenary in its day was one of the best flat screen overview shooters on the Lynx.

Starting off you get to choose from a few pilots who each have different add-ons to their ships. But if you knew the secret you could play as one of the makers! Flying straight into the action with lots of different alien ships and weird alien entities to destroy the odds are stacked against you. Not only was the action jammed packed but you had excellent background music in support of this classic game, the graphics where highly impressive also. One of the things I loved the most was the way you could blow up all the on ground bases and turrets.

The only thing that could stop me playing this game was when the Lynx gave up on me and started to break. How many times I sent my Lynx away to be fixed I can’t remember but it was a fair few!

Anyway, flying throw the missions about eight of them with the big motherships at the end of each mission to destroy was excellent. Not only could this be done on single player but you could link up to 4 players and I played the game 2 player which was awesome.

If you did get bored which was very hard because this was such a good game, they even added a little secret game called Life in it. But that’s another story. In my view this was one of the best games the Atari Lynx ever had and it gave me such enjoyment this is in my Hall of Fame for the Lynx.
