8.5 may seem like a harsh rating, but there are quite a few things that I actually don't like.
First and foremost I'm gonna talk about something that a whole lot of people are complaining about. The voice acting! This is a very tender subject, because some people are loving it, others... Loath it.
The voice acting, in english, is a frankly a mush of annoying Cockney, and extremely pomous and posh "Steriotypical" english. In my opinion, the voices are pretty hazey and sort of out of place in this game. I mean it's been what seems like forever since we've heard propper english in video games, and to be honest I don't quite like it. it just really doesn't fit into the storyline, but the thing is... I don't really like the Japanese voice acting either, i may just be a steriotypical ignorant girl, but it's slightly annoying hearing things that I don't understand. I've actually found myself muting the game, because to be honest I can't take more than about, I dunno. 20 minuites of either setting.
The rest of the game however, is amazing! I really like the Mechano things, they're really unique and interesting. Plus the story, is simply amazing. It's really engaging and pretty different from other RPGS and JRPGS on the market, I'm not gonna give anything away because quite a lot happens in the first 3 hours of the game. so, even with the flaws this game is EPIC, and definately my rpg AND jrpg of the year.
