Sega announced today that it has signed Chicago Bears All-Pro linebacker Brian Urlacher to become the cover athlete and spokesperson for NFL 2K3 for the PlayStation 2, GameCube, and Xbox. Urlacher also contributed to the motion-capture data used in the game, performed the voice work for in-huddle audibles, and helped design the game's defensive playbook.

"I've been dreaming of being on an NFL video game cover since I started playing football," Urlacher said. "I am honored to be a part of Sega Sports NFL 2K3 because this game offers the best perspective on what it's really like to be on the football field. Sega Sports has managed to capture the most realistic details of the game, down to the look and the feel of realistic tackles."

NFL 2K3 will include new animations, enhanced play-calling intelligence, and a new broadcast system with ESPN overlays. It will also include an enhanced franchise mode. NFL 2K3 is currently scheduled for release at the end of this year for all three platforms. We'll have more on the game from E3 later this month.
