Pure brainless sword swishing, guns blazing fun!

User Rating: 8 | X-Blades PC
I know the user reviews have been quite tough on this game but I would like to assure you that this game is at least worth picking up - if you enjoy Devil May Cry type of games with a bit of twist.

Ok so its not the most original type of game. Mix a Tomb Raider-ish story (treasure hunter anyone?) with a Dante type character (swords and guns) and make the graphics into pastel colors and style (hmmm.... Prince of Persia) with a heroine that flaunts her t-back while slashing at villains and you get..... X-Blade!

Sure its a rip-off of the games I've written above but I enjoyed every second playing the game. Coming home from a stress-full day sometimes you'd just like to cut loose without worrying about dying and look good while you're doing it. So here's a game for you.

Each stage is made in such a way that you just empty the red gauge on your bottom right to know that the stage is over and that's it. Aside from that you get to find power ups in each stage as well as some artifacts (i'm not sure what's it for) of which you can return to even after you've left that stage for a new one to find the items you've left out.

I know the game is a bit shallow but I think the real point of the game is to keep leveling up your character and just slash or shoot away. I'm sure some people will find shallow games a bit dull but hey, a lot of people would also appreciate linear games without thinking too much.

I recommend this game and even commend the graphics engine being used. Game is stable and I have not yet experienced any lag (I'm using an e8400 3.0Ghz processor PC, GTX260 GPU and 4GB memory).
