much better than expected

Sorry gamespot - i think you got this wrong.
Granted the graphics are weak, especially compared with the snazzy dirt3, which it's up against. but if you put some time into this game, and you love straight point-to-point (ie, WRC) rallying as i do, not fannying about sliding round cones and lorries, or driving trucks around, this is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
it has dozens of cars, in hundreds of liveries, and some old classics too (Lancia Delta Intergrale or Ford Escort anyone?) and about 80 different stages across about 10 or 12 different locations. Also, whereas in Dirt3 each rally track lasts between 1 and 2 minutes, each stage here lasts between 3 and 4 minutes so there's much more chance to really get into each drive.
IMO this would be a 9 if the graphics were as good as on Dirt3.
each of the cars handles differently, and tweaking the set-up does make an admittedly small difference. my favourite rally game (and the only other one i still have) is Colin Mcrae DiRT (the original) but i think i can now finally put that one back on the shelf.
Seriously, if you like rallying, please don't be put off by the poor scores...this is a really good game.
