Good: Chaotically fun, craters don't disappear and it's depth is realistic, all vehicles and aircraft are well designed just like in real life, action-packed, extremely satisfying and a very good storyline.

Bad: The way infantry gets inside a helicopter is not realistic.

World in Conflict is a real-time strategy game that puts you to the life of Lieutenant Parker. What I personally like about the game is the different mechanic it applies compared to other RTS's like the Command and Conquer series. In World in Conflict, you don't harvest resources here, or build anything at all. The mechanics in the game is simple. Given the required resources, make an army, and fulfill your objectives. This was quite a risky move but it paid off. Each team member has an equal number of resources. So it just depends on the combination of your units. This is good because you can't say it's unfair because it just depends on the units you deploy in the battlefield.

The campaign has 15 missions. Each of it can take around 40 minutes to finish. The story of the game is that the Russians launched a full scale assault on the U.S. It was a pretty good storyline that expressed the real feeling of war and how it feels to be under a new command. In the campaign, your class is already scripted on each mission. But in the multiplayer, you get to choose from 4 different classes which is Infantry, Armor, Air, or Support. No matter which class you choose, you can also use other basic units from other classes, but with a higher cost. More advanced units like the heavy M1 tanks, are only available for their specific class.

All units in the game are well copied. Helicopters fly realistically and if they get hit, the way they crash is realistic. The range of combat is just like real life. Tanks can fire at long range and infantry only fire if they can see their targets. And not every bullet hits its target. Bullets miss and bullets don't damage vehicles or aircraft in the game. Which is good. The only concern I have in the game is how infantry gets inside a transport helicopter. They just get near the helicopter and disappear without having the helicopter to land. But besides that, World in Conflict is a very good game. And there is never been a strategy game that doesn't have fire support right? In World in Conflict, the fire support can quickly turn the tides of combat and is chaotically fun. Artillery really makes big crater holes in World in Conflict and that is good and these craters don't disappear. The most tough and expensive fire support, the nuclear strike, has been done pretty well. The smoke is very good and the crater is really deep and big just how it should be. The response of calling artillery also varies. If you actually hit the enemy, the guy in the radio will say "enemy targets in the area have been turned into dust" or vice versa and if you actually hit friendly units it will say "friendly fire! Cease fire! Cease fire!" Which is pretty cool.

To top things up World in Conflict is a very good strategy game that is chaotically fun and extremely satisfying.
