This game has a great mix of tactical unit-to-unit combat and strategic battle changing additions.

World in Conflict is a modern strategy game set in the cold war era. The campaign is built on the idea of the cold war elevating into a full on World War III. You play as a Lt. Parker and you start out in Seattle where the Soviet Union has invaded the U.S via disguised cargo vessels. Its an intense entry and gives a cinematic approach on the story. You then move on to another mission in which you must save many civilians in their retreat. From there you progress on many diverse and original missions that keep you wanting to play more.

So in the end the campaign is relatively short but is intense, fast-paced, and explosive. It teaches you how to use all the units in the game and supplies much variety to keep you playing. My only complaint with the single player is the AI can sometimes prove to be a bit lacking. One last thing I feel I should mention is that there is no base building to be had.

The multiplayer requires some getting used to as most strategy games do, but once you get the hang of things and how to use them it can be pretty addictive, especially since your team really works together and becomes an operating military force. You can choose between four different "classes" in which you get to use class specific units and either fight on the front lines or support your teammates. There are also a few different game modes to keep things jazzed up and interesting. In each mode there are two teams against each other fighting for objectives.

The multiplayer portion is more challenging than the single player for obvious reasons and it is still fun as long as your team works together and as always its more fun when your winning.

So in the end the game is a very fast paced and fun game that lacks traditional base building and succeeds in making an intense and tactical RTS.
