Not the best idea for the PS2, and I do agree with what GameSpot.com says about this game...

This is one of the few times I totally agree with Gamespot.com. This is not a really good idea to be put into a game system that is probably not going to last too much longer. I understand that PS2 will still be a while for a while until the PS3 can make a better launch into the future. But to put out games that even a SNES game system can do, that's just wasting what the PS2 can do. You may as well put this out for PSX, Game Cube, and even for N64 (And that game system is dead). If you can find this game for $5 - $10, then get it, if it's more, don't bother.

GRAPHICS
=========
As I said, this is a waste of what PS2 resources can do. If this game was in 3D style in some way, I might consider it. 2D graphics pretty much died with the age of 32-bit systems, that's not to say 2D is a bad idea. But because the game itself is so old, I don't see why they would introduce the game on such a powerful system as a PS2.

CONTROL
=========
If you have played any of the SNK games, then you know how to play any games that was made by SNK/TAKARA. Any game that was made by SNK only used 4 buttons with some button combinations to make additional moves. Although a lot of the moves are a little sluggish to get the abilities going, it's pretty simple to play this game. Overall, if you have played Street Fighter II, Alpha, EX, or any other Capcom or SNK game, this game will not be ultra difficult to play at all.

OVERALL
========
To me, this is just a waste of DVD-ROM space. I raelly don't like the fact that it's a complete set of the series. If they really wanted us to appreciate the game more, it might have been better if they made the game where it was 1 game where you just select any character while the gameplay is the same. Because they have added and removed some characters, it would have been better where you could choose any character from any game era and there you go. Plus, just give us the option of death-match mode rather than only give us this mode only in parts 1-2. I do hate the fact that Death-Match mode was removed after the first 2 games. I had a lot of fun with Death-Match mode when I was playing my friends back when it was first made. But the fact that it's removed from Jet and Perfect, I was in shock and now it's just your basic fighter clone. If they just allowed everything to be as one, that would have made a much better game to give us. As much as I hate to say it, not a smart idea SNK, not smart at all.
