Wild Arms 4 is about a a normal kid named Jude Maverick. One day Jude accidentally activates a gun called an arm and is forced to leave his homeland. He then must go to the world of Filgaia and save all of what he cares for. Apparently a war has damaged the world of Filgaia and Jude must survive in this new world. But fortunately Jude was accompanied by 3 people. Arnaud' Yulie' and Raquel. Jude later finds out that the brionic forces are trying to capture Yulie and he won't let this happen and he will protect Yulie with his life. The group also must fight for the future of the world. Will their mission be a successful one? Wild Arms 4 is one of those Anime roleplaying games. What I thought could have been improved was more voices. The voicework was quite good but it there needed to be more voices. You have to read most of the talking to get a good idea of the storyline. It is a lenghtly game that should require somewhere between 20 to 30 hours to complete. What I thought was pretty cool about this game was the Hex system. It is different from anything I have ever seen in an RPG game. Many turn based RPG'S just require you to pick a command and that's it. But the Hex system in Wild Arms 4 allows you to move around the battlefield and attack. Normally you will have these 4 on your team. Jude who is good for ranged ARM(gun) attacks' Arnaud who is good for spells' Yulie' who is good for support spells such as healing' and Raquel who deals tremendous damage. You can move your characters on the same hex as each other. This is useful in many ways. For example. Everyone is in the same hex spot and then you use a heal berry on that spot. Everyone in that spot will be affected by this. (The same goes for enemies.) As your characters level up you will have points to distribute to certain abilities. Every character has different abilities which he or she can aquire. These abilities usually require MP. A cool type of move in this game is force. Everyone shares the same force bar and have their own force moves. As you progress through the game you will gain new team force moves which require certain characters to be in the same hex as each other. These team force moves are usually very effective towards an opponent. Another unique feature to Wild Arms 4 is the platforming which takes place when not in combat. Puzzles are also another non combat feature. All in all Wild Arms 4 is a pretty good Roleplaying game. It has a good storyline and should take somewhere between 20 to 30 hours to complete. If you are a fan of Roleplaying games and are looking for something new then Wild Arms 4 would be a good choice but if your looking for a simialer RPG you should look elsewhere.
