Is one of the most addictive and fun games around. Its basically an anti-jrpg, you play as the evil over-lord boss and you build dungeons to kill jrpg heroes.
Your play field is a underground 2d area composed of 100s of brown squares that represent dirt/rock..etc.. The dirt is composed of nutrients, you break open the dirt to make tunnels/corridors to create your dungeons. While breaking the dirt you can release a slime moss if there is nutrients there. These slimemosses will breed and form into flowers and they will move nutrients from block to block.
Each block contains a set level of nutrients, if you break open a level 2 block a insect will be born, these insects eat slimemosses, the insects also will turn into larve - then into flying insects and breed when they consume enough slimemoss. The level 3 nutrient is the lizard man which eats the insects, they can lay eggs, in their asexual manner and multiply if they eat insects. This goes on and on with different creatures. Not only that but you there is magic blocks that form instead of nutrient (the can share a block the higher quantity wins) these magic blocks are made from the souls of dead jrpg heroes. They can be formed into wisps, little devil girls, dragons, etc...
Its the balance of nutrients and magic to make creatures to defend the dungeon you make and protect the overlord that makes this game so fun! Its a large game too with a overland map with multiple dungeons to make. Each area has a different environment and in turn your creatures can change relative to that, what they eat, how they are killed etc... They will mutate and evolve. There are 100s of way for them to change and they will even change into different creatures.
The game is a blast and I highly recommend anyone who loves jrpgs, or strategy games. This is all done in real time so you need to be quick in your thinking.
