Good for a launch title but at the end of the Gamecube's life span...

User Rating: 6 | Wave Race: Blue Storm GC
I have finally bought Wave Race: Blue Storm mostly due to the large number of raving reviews from friends and magazines only to be horrified at how limited it is!

With only 7 playable courses and very little change brought on by the ability to alter weather this game is at best a time filler between eating dinner and going to the pub.

I suppose as a Gamecube launch title the physics of the waves and general beauty of the game were enough to satisfy peoples desperation for quality games but with some years under the gamecubes belt it hasn't stood the test of time.

When you first play this game you will be frustrated, the turning is difficult, the harder tricks require insanely good timing and the speed is not very impressive. After a few hours you will however get into the races and manage much better with the control system, the main drawback being that after enough hours to learn the game it is so easy you will already have beaten it.

It is however an acurate portrail of water physics in its reaction to jetskis, weather, animals and land.

If you see this game in a second hand store for cheap then why not pick it up, it may not be a great game but it will provide a few cheap laughs, but for gods sake don't go out and buy a new copy.
