You may look crazy while playing it but this is one of the best games you'll find on the system.

User Rating: 9 | WarioWare: Twisted! GBA
If you’ve played the first Wario Ware Inc. game that launched in early 2003, then you should know what to expect from this version. Except a lot has changed this time around. Wario Ware Twisted reinvents the classic style of microgames from the last game while keeping the original concept. If you did not know the original concept, it was to beat quick, random minigames that literally lasted about five seconds long and then to progress through a lot more of these zany minigames. It was fun and super fast paced making it incomparable to a Mario Party game. When you go to the store to pick up your copy of Wario Ware Twisted you’ll probably notice one thing-the game box itself if thicker than a normal GBA game box. It is about twice as thick. This is because the cart too is bigger than a normal GBA cart. It contains a tilt motion sensor and a rumble feature. The new gimmick in Twisted is to use the tilt motion sensor to tilt your GBA to play the minigames. Most of the games found in this cartridge require you use this tilt feature and it won’t take long to get used to either. Sometimes though, it seems that the game relies to heavily on the tilting which is not necessary for a few minigames that would’ve been just fine with the D-Pad and A button. Some minigames though, do have you pressing the A Button, or tilting and pressing the A button. Wario Ware has a slick sense of style and a great presentation. After turning the game on, you are welcomed with four modes. Spindex, the first mode is where all the games you have played are stored and you can choose anyone to play and try to get a high score. The second mode, Story is where you can play through the story. I’ll get to that later. The third mode is the Souvenirs section in which you can view tons and tons of presents and neat little side games and extras that you unlock from Spindex and the Story mode. The last mode is of course, options where you can choose game options or erase your data. The storyline behind Wario Ware Twisted is that everyone’s favorite plump video game protagonist, Wario has broken his Gameboy Advance’s buttons! Oh no! So he takes his GBA to Dr. Crygor’s lab to get it repaired. Well, Dr. Crygor puts it in his machine and it comes out as a GBA device that now required you to tilt it to play instead of using buttons. Wario goes ahead and makes his game for it with his intention of becoming filthy rich. In the story mode, you play through tons of minigames by going through each character’s storyline. For example, you’ll start with a brief one with Wario and then you’ll see an opening and epilogue sequence and then you’ll progress to the next characters portion of minigames including very strange boss battles at the end. Each character has their own style of microgames such as 9 Volt’s and 18 Volt’s “Spintendo” classics to Mona’s “Mini Spin” games. There are some new character you’ll see such as Jimmy’s parents, 18 Volt, and Wario-Man. There are also some nice unlockables once you’ve completed every character’s set of games. Fans of the classic should try Twisted out as well. Really, this game is for anyone but the classic fans will find a lot to like with the old games like everything from Super Mario Bros 3, Mach Rider, and Metroid to games like Kid Icarus, Wrecking Crew, and The Legend of Zelda all redone with the new tilt feature but still have the original graphics. Just don’t expect playing these classics for long, (Except in one boss fight) so enjoy the five seconds you have playing with each. You can’t really judge the game by its graphics because it’s always changing. It isn’t like in a Mario Party game where the graphics maintain the same the whole way through. The graphics can be awful but it doesn’t matter because the graphics in those games were meant to look that way and are only bad in a technical standpoint. Such as the pencil drawn style graphics. Other games look really good and deserve an eight out of ten for graphics. This game has an awesome sense of style which makes it super fun to play. The music in this game is really good and contains some classic NES games we all know and love to more new tunes which are very good too. There are some pretty crazy sound effects, though never realistic. But come on, do we want Wario Ware to sound realistic? Some of the music can get repetitive though while most of it is great. This game has loads and loads of replay value including collecting all of the 130 souvenirs and unlocking all 200 minigames which will take a long time to complete the high scores. Some of the minigames will never get old. Nintendo made a really good game with really good replay value. Overall, Wario Ware Twisted ranks with the other crazy games out there like Katamari Damacy. This game is amazing in every aspect and has incredible value to it. And, it’s at such a cheap price. With 200 minigames and 130 more unlockables, this game is definitely a winner. Plus, the tilt feature works very well and adds a new twist to Wario Ware. It is properly named Wario Ware Twisted. This is one of the very best games you’ll find for the Gameboy Advance.
