Focuses on how use your troops effectively rather than building the biggest army. Great for even the casual RTS player.

I'm not a big RTS player, and have been playing FPS and RPG's alot more often. I decided to try this game cause of reviews which said it was great for the casual RTS player. They were absolutely right.

I just finished the single player game, and I had great fun the whole way through. The thing that separates this from most other RTS is that there's a low unit cap and it makes you focus more on how you manage your troops rather than how many you can build. There are tons of upgrades for units as well. Most infantry units are squads which can build their own troops up to capacity as well as build heavy weapons for them, even in the heat of battle when you are losing troops. In big battles strategy turns into trying to keep all your squads alive by retreating out of fire when needed until you can build back enough troops to send them back in.

Here are some bullet points about the game, to keep this review easy to read through quickly:

- Single player game lasts about 12 hours on the default difficulty. You play as the Blood Raven Space Marines and there are no alternative campaigns for the 3 other factions (Eldar, Chaos, Ork).

- NO harvesters, resources ('requisition') are gathered through capture points which you must hold. Power resources (which is needed for vehicles) is either gained through special capture points or generator buildings you can build anywhere which generate it slowly.

- Capture points and a lack of cheap powerful units doesn't encourage rushing, but it does encourage turtling as players focus on beefing up capture point defense and the pace can slow right down to a crawl.

I highly recommend this game to everyone. It's such a fun game with a minimal learning curve and the perfect game for casual RTS players
