Vigilante 8 is a game that you'll enjoy from start to finish. Its too bad they didn't make any more of these games.
The game has only 2 modes to play in, the quest mode and the arcade mode which lets you hope right into the action. The quest mode is where you take control of one of the 8 playable characters, you play 4 levels with the character and as you progress through the mode you'll learn more about the character's past. The game can be played in co-op which is where this game is at its best. Each character has their traits, there are some cars that are faster but weaker and some that are slow but very strong. Each car has a special attack which will usually finish somebody off. The game has very easy controls and you'll find you'll be having a ton of fun playing this game. Graphically, this game is beaten by only a few special games like Metal Gear Solid and Tekken 3. The areas look very well done, the cars look great, and the cut-scenes look fantastic. One of the best things in the game is the framerate, even when there's a war raging on. The game won't lag which is really cool.
This is a fantastic multiplayer game, but the single player is very short and very easy. If you've got twisted metal and are getting bored of it then don't be afraid to switch over to this game.
