Blow $#!% up!

User Rating: 9.2 | Vigilante 8 PS
This game was and still is the $#!%. The only game to rise up against Twisted Metal 2 and actually win over it, but still be underappreciated. Its a pyromaniac's best friend. And those of you who hate the rising gas prices right now should play this game in hate of OPEC.

The gameplay is completely freakin awesome. OPEC is causing America to have an oil strike (its based in the 70s), and so some badguys decide to take it further by blowing up gas stations and other places to get revenge on them and to get some gas in their cars again. But wait, there are vigilantes out there who want to take the law onto their own hands and beat back the baddies. Whatever. Each car has its own special and not just shooting missiles back and forth. The fact that your gun overheats quickly and forces you to think ahead before you try and completely destroy somebody with bullets is something TM2 could have never thought of.

The sound was original. All roadhouse music or disco. Maybe some rock, I cant remember. It got annoying sometimes, but thats when you took out the V8 disc and popped in your own music CD to drive and destroy to. The tires squealing are there, the crashing and glass shattering are too. Blowing things up causes noises also.

I dont know how many hours I wasted in front of this game, but its probably the reason Im lazy right now and addicted to video games. Its somewhere around 100 hours, like it shows somewhere. But even after you beat the entire thing, its well worth it to go back through and just destroy stuff, or to have fights with other cars.

This game will always remain as one of my top favorites. I wish I had a PS1 or PS2 right now just so I could play it. Unfortunately, I also wish I had the game to play it also. My bro barrowed it and that was the last I ever saw of it. So its in his room somewhere and I cant go looking for it. Yeah. I still have V8 2 though. But that might be too scratched up.
