V8 2nd Offense was a fairly good sequel to the original, but I don't think it was as good as the original.

I liked the first V8 game back when it was original. It was a way for me to get away from playing Twisted Metal all the time without missing the TM gameplay. I immediately asked for V8 2 when I heard that it was coming out, because I knew it wouldn't be much different than the first.

GRAPHICS: For a PS game, the graphics were pretty good. The cars were shiny, and I liked how you could customize the colors of the car to whatever color you wanted. The cutscenes had amazing graphics, that looked like PS2 in game graphics.

STORY: It was a pretty good story, but you can't really go wrong with a car battling game. Basically, the only change in story from the 1st is that some of the Vigilantes have gone to the enemy side, and you have to defeat them. There were also a lot of new characters and vehicles to choose from in this game.

GAMEPLAY: Actually, the game was a lot of fun to play. I liked to just drive around with my brother and destroy things. I especially liked knocking the donut off of the donut stand and watching it roll around and crush things.

Overall, this game was good. I think any fan of the 1st game would easily enjoy this one. And if you like Twisted Metal, this game might be a good alternative if you really want to go back to playing Playstation games.
