Watch Dogs - Hacking the City
Watch Aiden Pearce hack his city to get what he wants.
I think little gullible kids will love this game and people that know nothing about information systems....IT stuff...will love this game...I could care less.....OOOOH lets hack the bank vault and take the money...Snooze. Nothing like this will ever be this easy. It sure will be fun to think so..that's why dumb people will like it.
Ahh a unique and gorgeous urban open-world game :)
Can't wait to buy this beauty on PS4....looks very ambitious! :D
I think this game is a on trick pony. It will be about hacking, melee and chasing with some shooting involved. It just looks like such a boring game with hacking being a major focus. I will pass.
Around the 2:00 mark...
"CTos lets you hack anybody's personal data.. Break in to their house through their own home security cameras.."
Is that guy playing Kinect?! Ubisoft saw it coming all along :P
It seems like the element of fun has been removed, All these hacking options should be totally available to you at the beginning and then you can choose how to take on certain missions and the possibilities would be huge. It looks like your going to have limited options in the beginning and by the time you get to the end you will have seen it all before. LINEAR sucks!!!!
to be honest ive been waiting for matrix "the game", open world style with action gameplay, this wets my dream for the time being... and i like it.
Ok good, curiously his jacket has some serious triangles crossing each other on the back texture. Just saying...
I can understand people having reservations about the game, people keeping their expectations in check can only be a good thing, but I doubt the game will be overly easy. Based on this game play video, the hacking mechanic looks to have a progression system similar to something like Far Cry 3 or Skyrim. Perhaps by the end of the game it'll be easy, but I'm willing to bet that at the beginning one's hacking abilities are not that robust.
As a Chicago resident, I'm excited at seeing how ubi renders the city, and at the possibility of roaming around being a terrible nuisance.
I honestly don't understand why this game is so popular. Innovative features? Hacking is reduced to pressing one button in contextual menus! How is that hacking? And why are people so seduced by this mechanic to begin with? It is just not that great. The rest of the game looks like another third person shooter with standard cover mechanics.
i like the idea, but just a cell phone? I guess that is supposed to be the point, but if it is always on you, you would just being going from place to place hacking and that would be about it...
While I have no doubt this game will be a hell of a lot of fun and look incredible, I'm worried that because it's being built with current gen consoles in mind if the physics and some of the particle effects are going to be pared down. I'm sure the engine is flexible, but since they've stated that it's going to be the "same experience" on current gen, that jerky animations and wonky AI will be prevalent.
i really like everything about this game and how looks so futuristic but the only bad thing i see here is with all of this elements to hack it looks that the game will be kind of easy without a challenge for example when the cops are chasing you i don´t thing they will be able to catch you i mean even if they have robocop or terminator you can be able to hack them as well hahaha
Very cool but it is vaguely similar to the gameplay trailer of another open world sand-o-boxy kind of game. I think... wait... I think I hear Count Feedbackula creeping in, never mind.
Part of me is thinking this game could be a let down, all this hype and it could end up being mediocre. It all looks good from these gameplay trailers but once you start noticing repetition in-play and the novelty of "hacking" wears off you could start to get bored fast.
I hope it's totally awesome, though.
I think this one is gonna be one of those that gets bitten by its expectations. It might be cool, but it wont be anything like goty. It's gonna be hella easy mode, but folks like that so, I guess that's good.
@xxxxTRISTAMxxxx I respect your right to have an opinion...but c'mon
@maximo *COUGH* PC *COUGH*
@maximo Mmmm the best? i doubt it...
@maximo Congratulations *pats on back*
I don't even think that the shooting and combat system is the focus of this game. I think it will all be about hacking and melee combat. This game looks so boring and I will be pass on this for sure.
@DantheMan9856 From the videos it looks like you just press square to win.
@LeviHarris You have your info ALL wrong. It's being developed for PC first THEN is being ported to Next-Gen consoles, THEN TO THIS GEN.
@LeviHarris I agree but I will still hope for the best but not expect it...
@Xavmaster12 -_______________- !!
@Tee_Mal I haven't watched the video yet, but those have been my concerns about this game. The oh so cool sounding stuff might just be super simple and repetitive stuff, where it's mostly scripted and becomes almost like quick time events. Ok, now I'm gonna watch the video and see how the hacking looks :).
@360army apples to oranges
You make some good points, however, you can only speculate, considering no one has gotten their hands on it, and the previews have been vague. Also, what's wrong with easy? Some people enjoy it when they're not pulling their hair out while playing a game.
@Tee_Mal I still can't tell :).
Exactly. Also, if you're talking about sheer content, GTA V wins by a mile. Sales-wise, it'll definitely win - hell, it'll probably beat CoD this year. Watch Dogs looks amazing, but you're comparing it to a game that's been in developement for 5+ years - a game that get's people excited when new information for that game get's a release date. Can't wait to play Watchdogs, but it's the new kid on the block, and it has to prove itself before any declarations of "winning" can be made.
@ooblah I think a lot of folks talk about speculation to sound smart. I don't mean you. If you've been playing video games as long as I have, hell doing anything over 25 years, you'll get pretty good at knowing what's about to happen in that realm. It's not a special talent I have, it's just paying attention. Speaking of which, I've noticed once or twice that vague previews are often bad news.
What's wrong with easy is that some of us aren't ADD kids, we actually finish our games. It really isn't hard to be good at video games, especially if you like video games. Some people should sharpen the fuck up so they don't have to pull their hair out.
EDIT: Reading it back it seems dickish, didn't really mean to go in on you. :/
@CincoToes You are right. Mostly the people who are getting super excited about this are the inexperienced ones. I've been playing games for quite a lot of years also (for around 35 years now), and it is getting much easier to make predictions about things like this too.
This game is going to need one hell of a good storyline to be successful. Because the gameplay looks bog-standard to me.
