it looks awesome so much better than the last gears campaign dlc that was a complete rip off this looks like it has soo much more to offer, im not suprised that the charecters arn't all that as they have'nt had as much screen time as delta so no wonder they fel shallow. i'll be sure to get this
i have a few greivences with the review, 1 if i wanted a good story id watdh oceans 11. if i wanted good characters i would read a book, i wouldent care ifwhats-her-fish was a rubberduckey, she serves her purpose and nothing more.2 yes the school was boring but nessecary because the reviewer would say that the pacing doesent make sense so quid pro quo.3 the DLC would suck if the locust were weak, just look at their name. locust HORDE not locust tacital equals.4 i do agree that the 15 dollars is pricey but ive paid more for less DLC(fallout 3/MW3 DLCs sucked) so this review is way too nitpickey and needs to be treated like as it is, a DLC nothing more nothing less
@penpusher Well when you think about it people have been using sawn off shotguns forever so you cant say that it was"invented" in gears three, and the retro lancer predates the newer lancer,so in all actuality the retro makes more sense than the new lancer because it states in the book that the chainsaw idea was started by tai to kill a locust while evacuating people from before the infamous hammer strikes occoured. i agree with the serapede but gears three never says it was a new species, oh well
"if you have the patience they you can just wait til they release gow 3 together with raam's shadow & futures dlcs.. much like they did for gow triple pack" Good point
Disagree with this rating. I thought it worked well without Delta, the battles are intense, fun to play as RAAM too. At least an 8.0. Well worth the money in comparison to some DLC. Proves that a full Gears prequel would work.
@GameBeaten if you have the patience they you can just wait til they release gow 3 together with raam's shadow & futures dlcs.. much like they did for gow triple pack
At the cast not having a good back story, well delta had 3 games and multiple books, so of course they have better story. I think it was a nice change to see the story from another point of view. As for the slow part I thought it showed a side of the cog that we haven't seen much. It showed they care about saving lives and aren't just non-stop killing machines.
Even though I think a 7 is a good score and I loved playing this dlc, I believe a 7 still is undermining since many will be turned off by downloading it just because it only got a 7. If you have gears, you should download it as soon as possible.
yea id say a 7 is a good score only cuz 1200 points is a little bit too much 800 would have been a better price.
I thought those bat things died in the light. Wasn't there a whole sequence i the first Gears about that? Wasn't it a total rip off of Pitch Black? ... Oh well, not like there's a quality story in this game anyway, changing stuff doesn't matter. Swap out any character with Hulk Hogan and the game effectively stays the same. Maybe that will be the next DLC.
I'm sorry but I really disagree with the rating given on this site.. I loved it all and it reminded me of Gears 1, with all the emergence holes and sweet cut scenes, it looked to me like they paid more attention to the graphics in the cut scenes also because I always notice on the Gears campaigns the actual gameplay is better than the cut scenes (not all).
amazing graphics, as always! too bad about the main human cast, they're not really written as well as Delta. Great job, though, Epic!
I enjoyed it, only thing I dont like is that they didnt explain how the retro and the sawd-off got in there, plus the serapied, I mean that last one was never seen till gears 3 right? so what gives? Its a bit sloppy to leave such significant occurances unexplained
seems like it would be a great buy if the price was a little lower. but i guess there's more value to it as part of the season pass.
@Led_poison On insane? are you insane? Trying to beat RAAM on the hardest difficulty was rock hard.
