I understand you lord dagger. you can make masterpieces in the pro editor:.....best game ever for1200mp.
@lorddaggeroff Do you just randomly put words together? You type like you're tripping on something. BTW this game looks like great simple fun that can also get pretty competitive with pals. I used to laugh my ass off playing Excite Bike back in the day.
@lorddaggeroff What planet do you live on? need a physics degree to play a next-gen excite bike? Journalism degree a low entry mark into society? Try getting a grasp on the English language before bashing other people's endeavors.
I ain't much into the racing genre of gaming. But this looks sweet! I really have to check this out as soon as I get a chance.
Excellent review overall but I couldn't get from it what made this an 8.5 and not, say, a 9.5. I know reviews are subjective and I'm not one to argue over a (great) score. I'm simply curious. Edit: AFAIK matchmaking issues were caused by server overload because so many people bought the game on day one. It broke records... and the servers ^^
if i could pull myself away from BF3 for longer than 20 minutes I would totally buy this game. Looks awesome.
I'm not even into racing games...but this games demo is awesome! Should have got a 9.5 with .5 off because we cant let RedLynx think they have a Mario Bros. game on there hands! :D When more people hear about it and buy it, match making should work better. I used the refer to friends option in the demo to let my friend list friends know. Spread the word!
This is the type of game where any frustration you experience is caused by your own mistakes, and never because of impossible or cheap game mechanics/obstacles. Also, the track editor is so "robust" that you can literally recreate every track in the game; from lighting, to physics, to background animations, everything. Creating a custom track is a little time consuming, and the camera controls for the editor are annoying, but the results are amazing when you get past the learning curve.
did he ever take into account that their server isnt flawed, there just arent enough people playing it?... yet
God, this and Trials HD are both awesome. I played the demo at my friend's house and it's so addictive!
I've been playing the game since its release last week and it's easily the best value of any xbla I've ever purchased. Don't tell RedLynx, but they could sell this as a full retail title. Brings back the good old days of scoreboard chasing!
@001011000101101 Not weird, the soundtrack is all down to music taste and that shouldn't affect the rating, but slow matchmaking is a flaw (especially for a record breaking XBLA game). So it isn't perfect, but 8.5 is a very respectable and high score.
Good review, I would of give it a 9 but that's just my opinion. I already hate most of my friends for beating my track times lol, an the music I just play with it turned off it drives me insane. Think the game should come with a new pad lol, cause mine is ready to hit the wall at 1000mph lmao with frustration, and watch it explode into tiny x-pad bits.. But then cry a tear of trials joy when doing a track that just seemed impossible. Only to be beaten by friends with better times, an less or no faults. Damn them all lol. Be warned this game is more addictive than crack. It will have you coming back time an time again, just to do 1 track for a better time. If your a fan of the first trials, then this game is a must have. If you have never played it grab the demo. It is easily one of the best game on xbla, an well worth 1,200 credits. Enjoy gamers im off to give me self a brain hemorrhage, on the insane tracks. Much love.
This is a $60 AAA Title for a mere $15. The game has INFINITE re-playability and has the most competitive and contested leader boards in all of gaming. Simply watching the replays of the top riders rip through the most "extreme" tracks is worth the price of admission. I am also SO glad Ubisoft stood aside and let RedLynx complete this project with no interference after they bought the studio. 250,000 purchases in its 1st 24 hours (over 400,000 now) should tell you everything you need to know. Get this game now!
So a slow matchmaking and bad soundtrack removes 1.5 from the score? That's a bit weird. The game is amazing.
I bought it first day. Didn't even bother trying the demo because, like Trials HD, I knew it would be awesome. The track editor alone is worth the money. Hope they do a DLC like they did with HD that includes more tracks and editor pieces.
@bandtnt there's a higher chance of indie devs making a game like Trials for the PC than RedLynx bringing it to the PC platform. And if it ever comes to PC it would be a bad port with control response as bad as it was in Trials 2 (wonder where Trials 1 is ... hmm). Elastomania is still the number 1 game in this "genre" despite it's dated graphics and all ... :)
Demon/Dark Souls is the only other game that gave me a more gratifying feeling other than the original Trials..... That game was so hard during later trials.
If it didn't have all the online crap I'd consider it, but online Achievements are something I HATE.
@lorddaggeroff Looks like someone needs a degree in journalism.
