Titanfall Video Preview: More Than Just Call of Duty With Mechs

@dannyodwyer @dreamreaver721 Danny, if I can dissent a bit more without being called names. ;) You said in BF you stay away from choppers unless you have a rocket as a ground soldier. I've seen tactics used against choppers that have nothing to do with rockets - snipers taking out the pilot of said gunship with a skillful shot, stealing it from the enemy base (a great strategy), and others. So there are many other tactics that allow you to manage vehicles. Plus, you just used a chopper as an example...there are many more vehicles that that which enable soldiers to use far more tactics to take them down. Again, I see no glaring difference here in the tactical space aside from the speed to get more vertical. I've been very vertical in BF4 (that's what she said). I never said these games are EXACTLY the same, but you're making it sound like it's "very" different and I don't see it. Even the video footage shows a huge insipriation from Call of Duty, and why not? Why not admit that it's Call of Duty with mechs? Former IW devs plus mechs? Call of Duty is the best-selling FPS series in history, so what's so embarrassing? Call it what it is, so what? People will still buy it even if that's the case.

I'm not being a pessimist for the sake of being a pessimist; I also don't see the point of being a complete optimist in the gaming climate today, where dollars buy hype. Didn't your site report Microsoft and other companies (EA) purchasing positive YouTube feedback? Microsoft is likely betting a whole lot on Titanfall, being it's an exclusive and they're getting beat up right now (whether that's right or wrong I don't care, the fact is they are). I would argue that the same hype is driving Second Son articles every half day on various sites. I haven't played it like you have, granted, but I'm not claiming absolute knowledge here. I'm simply dissenting based on your video. This game is not that unique; it's combining ideas from other games. Sure, it may work, but I wouldn't go so far as to say it's so vastly different.

@dribblesbarbax @dreamreaver721 ASSume all you want bro, but everyone loves a blind optimist just the same. Dissent and questions aren't bad things, in fact I would say in a climate where Microsoft and EA (and of course many other companies, arguably) are buying positive footage on YouTube, gamers have a right to be skeptical with gaming sites that exist because of advertising dollars. That's a fact. Many games are hyped that flop, exclusive or not. I don't want the game to fail. You mistake my dissent for some sort of Microsoft hate, regardless of my disclaimer. Well, that is your right, but I will say it again: I couldn't care less what console this is coming to, and just to satisfy your assumptions, Second Son is suffering from the same hype machine as well. The game may suck, it may be a graphically superior version of the past Infamous games, so what? It will still sell. Titanfall will sell regardless of how I feel about it.

And I don't really care - all due respect - if journalists disagree with me. I wouldn't post my opinion if I didn't want someone to disagree with me. What does that mean? Is my argument irrelevant because someone disagrees with me? Sorry bro, that is an irrational position and it is irrelevant in and of itself. Just because someone played the latest hyped game doesn't make it a good game. It's all part of the game, so to speak, of journalism and hype. These websites, no offense GS, have a vested interest in promoting the industry when so much is riding on a title like this. We have seen many titles hyped that flop. Why not be pessimistic and err on the side of caution? I haven't said one fanboy thing and you still smack me around? :)

Rumors i've heard, say that Battlefield4 still isn't fixed. So Titanfall can also take up to 3+ months to get fixed.
