They realy need to dial in the theme of this game, i mean magic,dinosaurs,post-apocalypse, what theme are they striving for or are they just throwing in every idea they have.
"Be whoever you want to be, play however you want to play," gee, never heard that one before. But this game does look like a lot of fun
I hope it wont be buggy as AoC was.. I`ll hold on buying it till I`m gonna make sure its well polished.
Been looking forward to this for years... I'm optimistic, but until we hear more actual details, it will be tough to say if it will be any good. It's great to see an original setting, at any rate.
I have never played a MMO - But I think I will start with this one. Looks AWESOME! And what have I been missing out on? Besides all that Templars looks like my choice.
Looking at the characters, it seems to me you can customize them as you do in APB; that would be great, mainly because I only discovered the awesomeness of mmo after I played APB Reloaded, and I'm still at closed beta. I tell why: I'm not only tired of boring generic fantasy medieval settings, as I'm tired of not making my character to look more...personal, u know; in the end, I think it's not the PvP, or leveling up that keep u in the mmo (that's when silly people use bots and hacks); it's the virtually infinite customization capabilities the game offer without having to create an all new character and starting all over again.
remember how cool Age of Conan trailers were ? fool me once ..... learn from my mistake : stay the hell away from funcom !
Woah, this looks dam good. been dying for an mmo on the xbox for tiiiiiime. looking forward to this one, not looking forward to any kind of monthly fee :\
Heh, lately EVERY1 have been promising the FREEDOM of progression, character creation n stuff like that. Ok I agree, APB had freedom of char. creation and customization, BRINK will bring us freedom of movement. So what is freedom of char progression I wonder? Will they make it similar to..lets say, DARKFALL? That game had/has freedom of character progression with almost none limitations, if it will be so, then this game will be awesome! But I seriously doubt 'bout that...but then again, lets wait and see :)
Instant gratification..... sounds boring..... Might be fun for the first free month.... If you try to cater to the super casual gamer when designing an MMO you will shoot yourself in the foot. A pack of monkeys could figure that out... Unless you have a endless amount of content or you have an AMAZING PVP system.
i dont know how this is goin to work for the 360 if you already pay for gold membership? dont tell me your goin to have to pay a monthly fee as well. i hope not cuz then they r just wasting their time making a 360 game
What's with the people complaining that they don't know every little detail about the gameplay mechanics and the progress system? The game doesn't even have a release date yet. Chill out already.
The monsters look freakin amazing, and I love the unique setting. Definitely going to check this one out.
My problem with this is that, there are a lot of fallacies with their ideology. They claim that there is no level system and class system, but then how do you actually progress. I mean GW had a similar concept with the level system (putting at 20 and come on 20 is easy to get to in GW), but the idea was that you had a limited number of spells and attacks at your disposal requiring a lot of strategy which made it great. Plus, you had so much that you could improve your character on, so there was a lot of interest with that particular mmo. The reason why mmos are as successful is the idea of getting better gear and making yourself more powerful as you play the game. Not only that, but if you were to look into the idea of "no class system", there would be a problem with that too, because with no class system, how would there be a balance. I mean, there has to be some kind of talent tree that has a limited number of points and if there is, THAT IS the class system. I just think this idea was not fully thought out. The game looks like it may have potential, but right now, it doesn't look that unique.
Been following this game since it was announced and i am now getting bored of the wait. Guild wars 2 seems to be addressing issues that are common in popular MMOs. Secret world seems like its trying to appeal to a niche market too much and is being different for the sake of being different. I don't think this will be a success I’m afraid. The buzzwords they use such as "true freedom of progression" no longer excite me either.
Lost my interest too. Generic MMO, looks boring. No interesting art style, no word on any innovative mechanic, they actually do not say anything about mechanics apart from meaningless buzzwords - be who you want to be, true freedom of progression, bla bla bla, this in going to be dead in the pipe.
The footage looks amazing. I guess we'll just have to wait and see if their no-class, no-leveling character system is as fun and revolutionary as they're hoping. I'm cautiously optimistic.
I WANT IT! Just to see how it will turn out it could be a EPIC Succes or an EPIC Falure anyways the game looks awsome keep it up, we gamers want more RPGS that will blow our minds.
It's been a long time coming, and I hope it will be as brilliant as it sounds. I know that may be wishful thinking on my part, but these guys are trying something different. They are breaking the mold that WoW and EverQuest have unleashed upon the world. So many developers just design a game similar to WoW, mainly because that formula works.
the graphics are looking better, but i wasnt worried about that.... what worries me is this combat gameplay footage that follows the right click to attack scheme.... i was hoping for shooter mechanics fused with rpg elements, but oh well... i guess its much to dream...
Admitly, it looks awesome fun... However, I am not as excited for this as I was when I first heard it. Don't know, when I was excited for it before, I saw it as you were playing as normal people in a normal world with not so normal capablities. Now that I see the levels, those other worldly levels... I don't know it's just a turn off. I might just stick to Class 4 for now, but don't get me wrong this game looks like a good one but I don't think it's my style of gaming.
