SloidSnake35, cause the story has already been told. it wouldnt be good RPG since the decisions, character classes, gear, and everything else have already been decided by Tolkien himself.
Why can't they just make an RPG where you get to play as the main characters from the movies? I don't want to play as Bill, Bob and Sally.
Wait, I'm abit lost, is this an RPG game like Elder Scrolls or Witcher 2 or just another strategy game like it's previous?
I want to see gameplay! We already have 17 hours of LoTR we can watch with the re-re-release special extended dvd blu rays... What we all want to know is if Snowblind struck gold again ala the Champions of Norrath series or is this Daggerdale meets Hobbits.
This modern trailers make me remember the packaging of the 80' games .... Flashy and beautiful but with no connection whatsoever to the end product.
To be honest, the trailer looks great, but, this days with C.G. animation being advanced as they are I'm not sure the release product will be as great just by seeing some 2 min. clip, that's been polished to hell and back by a team of professionals for god knows how long. I'll wait for the in game trailers to make my opinion. P.S. : Don't take me wrong, I'm an old geek, i even play the online version...lol.
@khimeron13 Uruk-hai are not really from isengard sauron made them as a cross breed of orc n men in mordor, which is why you see Uruk-hai at the black gate battle....sauron told saurumon to dig deep into the earth because thats where uruk-hai are also found. But ya im pretty sure sauron would of either sent uruk-hai up there or Agendar just did the same as saurumon nd dug deep into the earth :)
Pretty interesting trailer. How long have we known of this game? I feel like its going on about 20-30 years now
A loooooot better than the previous Lotr games, by the looks of it, but it is so irritating because this, skyrim and saints row 2 comes out all in november...FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
I am a show me what I will be playing kind of guys. No game play no say. Might be good might be bad... Still dunknow
@beardedkillacam I thought that the Uruk-hai were created in Isengard mainly to destroy the kingdom of Rohan and were exhausted at the battle of Helms deep in the 2nd book. Shortly after, Isengard was destroyed by the ents and Pippin and Mary... I'm not really sure whhat the details are if Sarumon sent Uruk-hai to the North before-hand or something to reinforce this other guy Agendar... Yea that's probably what happened. Anyways, this game looks good, but you should watch the E3 stage demo if you're not sure about it yet. I love Snowblind and the Lord of the Rings and Co-op, so this is perfect for me :).
This trailer got my attention sounds like it will have a promising campaign (and co-op campaign) hopefully it will have good gameplay as other people said before.
long we've been waiting for a godly RPG game about the hard making game of LOTR, there are plenty of LOTR games but very few like the startegy ones are good games, I hope this game makes a difference
@heroesfan261 There actually was a Northern Theater during the War of the Ring. Though I'm sure some of the specific events and characters created for the game aren't in the books. Go to the War of the Ring wikipedia page where there is a short description of the conflict.
@paranormalnut Ah well i was just wondering as he wasn't in any of the books and rather than describing him as one of sauron's lieutenants, it made it sound as if it were a completely different bad guy. Still though, I think it's going to be tough making a case as for why this entire War in the North wasn't mentioned in any of the Lord of the Rings Books.
Is it just me or have I already seen this trailer on this website just the other week? I'm well confused :/
Man this is starting to look great ill be picking this up..One of my many games this year been a good year for games loving it..Cost me a ton but i love it none the less..Started pre ordering in 2010 im still not done lol...Ah well its the fun of the games that counts..
Looking forward to this one. Just... I get that niggling feeling they played it very safe with the three protagonists you play as. They look exactly the same as Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas -only female form. Still, the game itself looks a treat!
Everytime I see those amazing game trailers, it always reminds me of the Warhammer online beautiful trailer. But then I saw Warhammer's gameplay and I wept... I don't trust trailers ever since. Trailer is one thing, gameplay is something completely different.I just hope this game's gameplay footage will be at least slightly reminiscent of this trailer.
Man, what a waste of a good voice-over. The images don't match the epic-ness of the voice and its content. Come on, with words like "against this rising shadow"...cut to 00:34...or "stand those who do not seek glory" cut to 1:16 Anyway, looks like an interesting game.
